Gîte Management

Having a holiday home naturally incurs running costs. Many owners are keen to maximise the value of their investment and to offset at least some, if not all, of the running costs. This can vary from letting your holiday home on a non-commercial or semi-commercial basis for a few weeks a year to friends, family or work colleagues, to a fully commercial venture where your property is marketed through a commercial website.

Whether you are letting your property on a commercial or semi-commercial basis, we can provide you with part or full management service to ensure your guests have a great holiday and want to come again, whilst ensuring your property is cared for.

Whether you are looking for a few rentals or year or as many as possible, it is inevitable that your property will be unoccupied for significants amount of time, especially over the winter period. We will provide regular inspections of your property both externally and internally to ensure it is safe and secure, including a thorough check of the outside of the property to make sure all is well and there are no signs of tampering, as well as a general inspection to ensure there are no issues affecting the integrity or structure of the property. We will also check inside the property to make sure all is well inside and can include opening windows and doors for a time to “air” the property and in winter turning on the heat during cold spells to provide background warmth and keep damp at bay.

Many of our clients own holiday homes in France but lead busy lives elsewhere. Whilst they would like to visit their homes in France more frequently, in reality it is limited to a few occasions per year. For the rest of the time they let them out to holidaymakers. However, it is impossible to manage your property from afar when guests are in residence. The little things, that if you were here could be dealt with in five minutes become hugely difficult when you are hundreds of miles away.

If this situation you need someone locally you can trust to be your eyes, ears and hands to deal with everything you would do yourself if you were here. Small things that are easily resolvable can irritate guests if not dealt with. It may only take ten minutes of time and a few euros to sort out but if your not here to do it by the end of their holiday it has turned into a major discontentment. We can deal with all these little things for you as well as dealing with other matters for you or for your guests such as:

Arranging access to the property.
Having boilers serviced and chimneys swept - necessary for insurance.
Arranging for deliveries of logs, oil or gas.
Making purchases of household items or equipment at your request.
Dealing with breakdowns of equipment or services.
Being a phone call or email away for you or your guests when you need our help.

We will also carry out an inventory check to ensure that everything is present and undamaged, ready for your guests. If any items are missing or damaged then we will arrange replacements and repairs ready for your next guests, including during their stay if required.

Gardening Services

Your guests may not expect a perfectly manicured garden but they will expect it to be neat and tidy, with the grass cut, trees and bushes trimmed, paths and patios weeded. It will therefore require regular maintenance during the peak season to keep it at its best, with a more steady approach outside of these times to keep it under control, so that it can easily be brought back to looking its best for your guests in the summer. We can tailor our garden services to suit your needs and budget, so that you can get the garden you want for your guests.

Swimming Pool Services

A gîte with a swimming pool is a significant attraction for guests and you will need to have it looking its best to avoid disappointment. Swimming pools need a lot of care to keep them in their best condition and ready for use. Paying guests with children are likely to use a swimming pool far more than normal domestic residents would and are more likely to be using greater amounts of sun protection products in the summer during their stay.

Therefore with paying guests it is important that the pool is regularly maintained as they will put greater pressure on the filtration system than normal, which will require regular cleaning to keep it operating efficiently. In addition, chemical levels will need checking and adjusting more regularly, as well as keeping a record of all levels and adjustments made for your records.

We believe that prevention is better than cure and it is much easier to make minor adjustments to chemicals at an early stage and clean filters before problems develop, rather than having to close the pool to rectify problems.
